About Us

Together We Are the Family of God

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, Kailua Christian Church strives to be a loving and nurturing family of faith committed to a growing relationship with God, one another, and the world through teaching, service and witness as embodied by Jesus Christ.

Kailua Christian Church (United Church of Christ) has a 49-year history of witness and service to the Windward community.  The church was born in response to a tragedy within the community and the desire to reach out and minister in an ongoing way to people on this side of the island, inviting them into Christian faith and fellowship.  Kailua Christian Church began as a predominantly Japanese-American congregation, though now, the rich ethnic diversity present in the members, reflects our understanding of the nature of the Kingdom of God.  Current membership is 195 members.

KCC has always been a mission's church and takes its outreach to the community in both service and monetary offering very seriously.  Being a church family that recognizes we have received much from God, we respond by giving much to address the needs of our own members and the world as a whole.

We serve a gracious God in the following areas of ministry:

Outreach: Benevolence Fund, Family Promise, Habitat for Humanity, Hale Ola Spouse Abuse Shelter, Institute for Human Services (IHS), Missionary Efforts around the world; OCWM, Global Ministries, Heifer International, YWAM, Believers Chapel, Wycliffe Translators, Every Nation, Ohana Ola Kahumana, Playgroup, River of Life, Special Emergency Relief Support; Floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, etc.,  Hawaii State Hospital, KCC Transitional Housing Unit, Vacation Bible School, Waikiki Health Center, & Windward Coalition of Churches Food Drive/Prison Scholarship.

Support Groups: Na Anela, Overcomers, and Men’s Fellowship

Christian Education:  Wednesday Morning Bible Study, Various Evening Classes, Bible Institute of Hawaii Classes, Alpha Classes, Sunday School for all ages.

The support and participation of our members in these ministries are vital to fulfilling our purpose as the family of God at Kailua Christian Church.

We pray that Jesus Christ be glorified through all that we do here.
